birds

I'm fascinated by birds - I watch them in my yard, photograph them and love the variety. Their colors and graceful shapes inspire me to draw and paint them, but of course that's challenging because they won't stay put for long. I began studying my feathered friends up close when I found a group of painters who paint regularly at the Field Museum in Chicago. I've been able to join them several times and that is a joy.  I've also been excited to paint mounted birds at the Naturalist Center at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh. In October 2015 I had a solo show of my work at their Nature Art Gallery. Some of my pieces continue to be available in that gallery.

Many of these original paintings are available. Contact me if you want a price quote.

All of these paintings are also available as giclée prints and some as cards. Contact me for more information.
